EU calls on sides to respect ceasefire

“The High Representative regrets the armed incident resulting in the loss of human life that took place during the night between 18-19 June along the Line of Contact in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The High Representative calls on both sides to respect the ceasefire, restrain from the use of force or any threat thereof, and continue efforts for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The EU reiterates its full support to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and the work of the three co-chairs,” the statement reads.

On June 18, an Azerbaijani reconnaissance detachment intruded into Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan, killing 4 Armenian soldiers and wounding 4 others. Azerbaijanis retreated, leaving one soldier killed.
