Turkish society is inclined to establish closer ties with Armenia and Armenians, said Robert Haddejian - the editor of the Armenian-language Marmara newspaper published in Istanbul.
According to him, public opinion in Turkey is favorable for resumption of the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation process. It was obvious that everything would not go smooth, though the most important is that the process was launched and mood has changed in Turkey, he stated, adding that articles about suspended process appear in the local press daily. Robert Haddejian found it difficult to answer NEWS.am correspondent’s question why Turkish authorities had not responded to Hillary Clinton’s statement, namely that the ball is in Turkey’s court in the Armenian-Turkish relations. Marmara editor noted he has not read Turkish press for several days, expressing confidence that the authoritative Turkish newspapers would manage to write about it in 3-4 days.
