The recent meeting in Almaty did not bear fruit, Head of Foreign Relations Department at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov told a press conference on Wednesday as he referred to the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
"But I hope that the process has not stopped. Currently all the circles of international community, the co-chairpersons, the presidents, the ministers are taking joint steps. Sooner or later the Armenian side must respond. Very often the Armenian side makes such steps to delay time, but the international community and co-chairpersons must require Armenia to take concrete steps. The Armenian side has no other choice. A response to the Madrid Principles must follow, and we are waiting for it," said Mammadov. Earlier Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan said that if Baku accepts the Minsk Group proposals, then the talks will continue, or else "other ways" will be chosen. "If Baku accepts the Minsk group proposals, negotiations will continue, and if it does not so, some other ways will be chosen. Yes, the negotiations are going on. The latest proposals were presented in Saint Petersburg. We say, that the document allows us to proceed with the talks. Let's see what Azerbaijan will say to that," Sargsyan had said.
