As a result of the consequences of the global economic slowdown, out of the countries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), residents of Armenia and Ukraine (65% and 62%, respectively) have been forced to cut down on expenses and economize, according to the results of a public opinion poll conducted by the Pan-Russian Centre within the frames of the Eurasian Monitor research consortium.
In Ukraine and Russia, the poll found that every second citizen are reduceing his or her expenses (by 49% and 48%, respectively), while in Belarus, 45% of participants said they’re cutting back on their expenses. Out of all respondents, the global economic slowdown concerns Russians the most (80%), followed by Kazakh peoples (79%) and Armenians (78%).
