RA National Statistical Service published economic data

Click to Enlarge!In January, 2010 Armenian economy registered 2.4% increase in GDP compared with the same period in 2009. Industrial products' volume in the country increased by 6.5%, electricity production — 3.7%, agricultural commodities — 3.1%, RA National Statistical Service informs.

Compared with same period of 2009, this January a 10.7% downturn in construction business was registered. Besides, the export raised by 1.8%, whereas import decreased by 4.4% compared with last year. However, compared with previous month, export of this January increased by 57.5%, import — by 8.3%.

Interestingly, usually January registers deflation due to economic recession, but this year the practice was broken and an inflation of 1.7% was reported.
