Gazprom discusses possible price cut of gas supplied to Turkey, said RF Deputy Premier Igor Sechin after the meeting with Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz.
“We have discussed the matter with our Turkish colleagues and I believe friends should always meet halfway. Business has to be mutually beneficial. Compromise is what we have to strive to,” Sechin stated. According to him, Russia-Turkey energy cooperation develops rapidly and Moscow values the country as a significant partner. Turkish media report that issues on Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline project implementation, NPP construction were discussed at the talks. Sechin outlined that his visit is also connected with preparation of RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s impending visit in May. Besides, the officials canvassed visa regime lifting and agreed to meet again in April to finally coordinate the document by Russian president’s visit to Turkey.
