Turkish Armed Forces general staff called urgent meeting

Click to Enlarge!Turkish Armed Forces general staff called an urgent meeting due to the arrest of almost 50 high ranking Turkish servicemen charged with planning a coup. All the army generals and admirals attended the meeting.

49 high ranking military officials, including 21 generals and 27 high ranking officers were arrested on February 22.

According to the documents published by Turkish Taraf newspaper, Sledgehammer action plan comprised 4 clauses and after their implementation coup d’etat would be staged.

The plan envisaged explosion of a mosque at the Friday prayer, landing of fighter aircrafters in Aegean Sea.

The mentioned actions had to reveal weaknesses of ruling Justice and Development party.
