Levon Aronian ranks third in Linares tournament

February 24, Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian defeated Azerbaijani Vugar Gashimov in the final round of Linares chess tournament in Spain.

Veselin Topalov defeated Boris Gelfand and Alexander Grischuk drew with Francisco Vallejo.

The standings are as follows: Veselin Topalov (6.5 points), Alexander Grischuk (6), Levon Aronian (5.5), Boris Gelfand (4), Vugar Gashimov (4) and Francisco Vallejo (4).
