Vengeance Pashinyan Subjected to Attests to Armenian Authorities’ Fear

Click to Enlarge!Armenian National Congress has released a statement following the Court of Appeal proceedings on the case of former Haykakan Zhamanak (“Armenian Times”) chief editor, political prisoner Nikol Pashinyan.

The statement, in particular, says that the prosecution was unable to bring forward any well-founded evidence to accuse Pashinyan.

“The judge acted as the prosecution’s obvious ally, unlawfully rejecting the motions proposed by the defense, [and] neglecting all evidence. Once again, the court carried out the order given by Serzhik Sargsyan [meaning, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan] himself and upheld the ruling by the court of first instance,” reads the statement.

According to the ANC statement, “what happened to Nikol Pashinyan is not an administration of justice, but just a political retribution and display of personal vengeance” to a person who was politically persecuted since the events of March 1, 2008, and who at his own will came and surrendered to justice.

The statement also says that the ruthless vengeance Nikol Pashinyan and all other political prisoners are subjected to is the expression of fear of the “gang” who has seized power in Armenia.

The ANC also states that it will make every effort to fight for the freedom of Nikol Pashinyan and all other political prisoners.
